Cat Collier Solo show
Tuesday, November 23, 2010
I made these!
3-D faceted fabric pieces I made for this months show. This idea began as an experiment for a window display & grew into this mini collection of wall sculptures. I'm so pleased with the outcome. They'll be hanging in the shop til December 2nd.
This months show also featured Local artist Kelly Haskew's mixed media paintings. I wish I had a picture of one of Kelly's paintings to show you all. She sold almost ever single piece on opening night!!!
We have been uber busy preparing for the holidays. New stock has been arriving just about everyday. We're doing our best to help you stay out of the malls & shop local for X-mas. ♥
Next month... Local artist Cat Collier's solo show. Don't miss the opening reception Friday December 3rd, 6 to 9pm.

If you haven't already witnessed the "cosmic abberations" from outer space on offer this month it's not too late. Johnny Sampson's prints will be up through the first week of November and at 40$ a print you should treat yourself instead of trickin' yourself this month.
Big thanks to Johnny for attending the opening all the way from Chicago and to Nick Dupey of Young Monster for setting it up.

Happenin's
It's great to be back in Chattanooga. We just got back from a road trip to Montreal Quebec, Portland Maine, and Brooklyn to visit old friends, make new ones, and check out lots of fun d.i.y. shops and galleries. We also gathered some vintage along the way to bring back.
As we arrived back in Chattanooga, Young Monster departed for Seattle to exhibit their work alongside CMRTYZ as part of the Adventure School Mobile City. So if you are in the Seattle area check it out!
Coming up this month–Sept. 11th we'll be exhibiting new work by local visual artist Mark Bradley Shoup as part of the AVA Gallery Hop from 2-9.
It still feels like summer but fall apparel is in. We have an entire new collection by local designer Erin Burnap AKA Forget Me Knot. Vintage flannels, long sleeves & light sweaters are slowly coming out. A fully stocked summer clearance rack is also in effect!

Doe Eyes
Based in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nyffeler mixes gritty geometrics with hand-drawn illustration to create a sometimes whimsical, other times abject style that is redefining the Midwest's rock and roll aesthetic. Recognized by the likes of HOW Magazine, IdN, and OMG Posters, Nyffeler has produced gig posters for internationally renowned bands such as The Decemberists, St. Vincent, Ratatat and even Gwar.
The opening reception for “All Doe Eyed” takes place from 6 – 9 pm on Friday, August 6 at Leo Handmade Gallery and features Nyffeler’s prints for your viewing pleasure. Following the reception, Nyffeler’s work will remain on display throughout the month of August.

Joshua "dolphinmouth" Bennett b/w John "peanut" Hall works of paper
Big ups to everyone that came out to witness the trance induced paper works posted up for the month of May. Come on down if you've missed 'em so far 'cause they're coming down in one week! Most have sold but there are still some choice visions on offer. Thanks again to Cole Champion for providing the chill'd aurals.
Thank you to Ashley Sluggo and Nathan for setting up the Gull, Leah Yeppi, and Rymodee! show. It's not often you get to catch a dude shredding six stings in one hand and breaking off beats with the other. Hope ya'll put some fluff in the hat for the traveling musician.
Coming in June, Julia Davis will share a recent photo series to be installed for an opening Friday 4th. juliaistropcool.blogspot.com
